International Study.

nternational Study Centres (ISCs) offer university preparation courses combining academic subjects, study skills and English language training. Each ISC is run by Study Group, working in partnership with the host University.

Study In Sweden.

Since 1814, however, Sweden has lived in peace, which has been the most important prerequisite for the build-up of the modern Swedish welfare state. During the 20th century, Sweden evolved quickly from a poor agrarian country to one of the world's strongest industrial nations. The point of departure for this "Swedish industrial miracle" was the country's natural wealth of forests and ore, as well as a long series of ingenious inventions and an entrepreneurial traditionThe transformation Sweden has undergone during the past century has been extremely radical. Sweden today is a modern, sophisticated, internationalized society which is very much part of a globalized world.
he principle of access to free (tax-financed) education for the whole population, throughout life, is among the pillars of the Swedish welfare state.During the past decade, large investments have been made in higher education and the number of students has risen by 50 percent.
In a highly developed industrial nation like Sweden, with a steady and insatiable need for advanced knowledge, research plays a key role as an investment in the future. Sweden has a long history of ambitious research and development programs, both in the private business sector and the public sector - and often including collaboration between the two. Sweden tops European comparative statistics both in terms of research investments as a percentage of GDP and in the number of published scientific works per capita.

PHD In Germany

  • There are PhD students who carry out their research work in 'graduate colleges' at universities under a rigid time schedule.
  • Others are university employees and work part-time as teaching or research fellows at the department or any other higher institute in which they pursue PhD program.
  • Others work on their research projects within privately funded or other sponsored non-university research institutes.
  • While some may have the privilege of a scholarship or their private funds allowing them to concentrate exclusively on their PhD, others manage to pursue their PhD work as a 'night job' in addition to working on a regular job in a company.
  • The minimum educational eligibility conditions for doing a PhD program in Germany is a Master's degree in the subject area.
  • However, in some exceptional cases with outstanding academic results, students may be permitted to take up a PhD program with a Bachelor's honor degree.
  • This depends on the subject, the university, the department and sometimes on the individual academician's views.
  • Student aspirants, who would like to pursue a PhD program in Germany's higher Institutions, are advised to check for the entire admission details and the financial supports, from the respective Universities or Institutes.

Harvard University

Harvard College, originally for men, was founded in 1636 with a grant from the General Court of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. In 1638 it was named for John Harvard , its first benefactor. During the 1640s the college expanded despite inadequate finances, and in 1650 it was incorporated and chartered by the General Court. Intended to be an institution for the education of Puritan ministers, it grew to be an institution of general education, and new and more liberal subjects and policies were introduced. In the 18th cent., particularly under John Leverett (1708-24), enrollment and campus facilities increased and the religious attachment to Congregationalism declined. Systematic theological instruction was inaugurated in 1721 with the establishment of a professorship of divinity, and by 1827, with the opening of Divinity Hall, Harvard became a nucleus of theological teaching in New England. In its early years the college was largely supported by the colony and the New England community as a whole, but support soon came in the form of gifts, and in 1823 the last state grant was received. Under Charles W. Eliot , the college became a great modern university. Its physical plant and curriculum were expanded, the graduate school was established, and the law and medical schools were reorganized. Eliot is also noted for his introduction of the elective system at Harvard. Radcliffe, Graduate Schools, and Other Facilities From two distinct schools, Radcliffe College for women (est. 1879, chartered 1894) and Harvard evolved in the 1970s into coordinate colleges with shared facilities and professors; all degrees were granted by Harvard. In 1999, Radcliffe officially merged with Harvard College, which became a coeducational undergraduate institution. At the same time the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard was established. The university also has graduate schools of divinity (1816), law (1817), arts and sciences (1872), education (1920), business (1908), and design (1936). Harvard also has schools of medicine (1782), public health (1922), and dental medicine (1941). The school of public administration (1936) was reorganized as the John F. Kennedy School of Government in 1966. Harvard's original library was founded in 1638 with a bequest of 400 books from John Harvard . By the early 21st cent., the university had more than 80 libraries with numerous special divisions. Its main branch is the Harry E. Widener Memorial Library (1915). The largest university collection in the world, the libraries house more than 15 million volumes as well as papers, manuscripts, incunabula , prints, digital resources, and other materials. Among the university's many museums are the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology and the Fogg, Sackler, and Busch-Reisinger museums of art. Harvard is closely associated with numerous research facilities, including the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, Arnold Arboretum, Harvard Forest, a center for Byzantine studies at Dumbarton Oaks in Washington, D.C., and a center for Italian renaissance studies at Villa I Tatti in Florence, Italy.

University of Greenwich

The University of Greenwich offers the best of both worlds, city and country. As a student you are on the doorstep of London, but with the cream of Kent - rolling hills, pub-to-pub walks, seaside resorts and historic sites - not far away.
Education is about breadth as well as depth. It is about places and people, sights and heritage as well as books and keyboards. So let us tell you a little about how we were born and how we have grown.

Each year the university offers its most distinguished buildings as part of the London Open House architectural festival, an event enabling the public to appreciate some of the capital’s architectural gems.

The university also takes part in the annual Greenwich and Docklands International Festival, a celebration of music, theatre, dance and other performing arts in and around the borough. Our ongoing support of Black History Month has brought a range of special events to the Greenwich Campus, including talks, presentations and exhibitions.

Also on the Greenwich Campus, the Stephen Lawrence Gallery showcases the work of artists from all backgrounds. Recent exhibitions include Trace, a work examining the processes of memory, and Candy Pop and Juicy Lucy, staged within an ice cream van, and inspired by the artist's childhood memories of her father's job selling ice creams.

Students and staff have the opportunity to engage with the arts by performing with the university band, which plays music from the Swing era, and with the university choir.
